PIRS is the federal and state designated Independent Living Center serving Placer, El Dorado and Alpine Counties in the Sierra foothills and mountains of northern California. Founded in March 1994, PIRS provides all state and federally mandated core services and has a minor home modification program for seniors that installs AT devices like grab bars, toilet safety frames, handheld shower units, small ramps, and more. No construction or building repairs. Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30-5 pm except holidays.
